Position Overview:

Join Vertex Service Partners as the Director, Employee Relations and Talent Development! We are seeking an enthusiastic leader to support our partner companies as a consultant on employee relations matters as well as build programs, tools and processes for leaders to successfully manage, develop and engage their talent.

This leader will consult with management on complex employee relations issues, while developing and implementing tools to enhance performance management, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. They will oversee engagement surveys, develop and support onboarding programs for General Managers, and drive learning and development (L&D) initiatives. The role demands a proactive approach to data analysis, translating insights into actionable strategies that drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations:

  • Provide expert guidance and consultation to managers on employee relations issues.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership teams, offering solutions that are legally sound, empathetic, and in alignment with company culture.
  • Produce a centralized employee handbook and design appropriate policies to drive business results.

Performance Management:

  • Design and implement performance management tools and processes, including goal setting, regular performance reviews, and continuous feedback mechanisms.
  • Provide tools and resources to managers to facilitate effective performance discussions and interventions.

Engagement Surveys:

  • Lead the administration of employee engagement surveys to gauge organizational climate, employee satisfaction, and areas for improvement.
  • Analyze survey results and consult with leadership to develop and implement action plans that address key areas of improvement.

Onboarding and Learning & Development (L&D) Initiatives

  • Develop and oversee tailored onboarding programs and plans for General Managers, ensuring their smooth integration into the organization and providing them with the tools they need to succeed.
  • Support the design, development, and delivery of L&D programs that enhance employees’ capabilities, leadership skills, and overall performance.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Continuously analyze employee data (such as turnover, performance metrics, and engagement survey results) to provide insights that inform key business decisions.
  • Use data trends to develop proactive people strategies that drive the business forward and impact the bottom-line.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR)
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in employee relations, human resources, or organizational development.
  • Very strong understanding of labor laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing performance management, employee engagement strategies and onboarding and L&D programs.
  • Experience working in a complex environment such as multiple brands, a wide range of geographic locations, varying levels of workforce and a minimum of 1500 employees.
  • Experience with M&A a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized with the ability to build excellent communication plans, presentations and training guides.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and complex employee issues with discretion, fairness, and legal compliance.
  • Analytical mindset with a track record of using data to drive decision-making and improve organizational outcomes.
