Who We are Looking For
We seek a dynamic and entrepreneurial Accounting Professional to grow with us. We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant/Controller to handle general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Our environment is fast-paced and offers ample opportunity to grow and develop. This position requires an individual with a high level of initiative who will frequently exercise discretion and independent judgement.
We need a professional with proven skills in implementing GAAP and end-to-end transactional accounting.
The person hired will be the top financial person in the Company and report to the company’s General Manager, while also interacting with the Partner Services finance team in meeting organization-wide objectives. You will enjoy a broad range of responsibilities, get to know the business and operations, and build out the accounting department as the company grows.
Structure of the position
This job is full time Monday – Friday 8am to 4:30pm in person at our Williamsburg, VA Office.
Essential Responsibilities
Manage the monthly close process and driving material efficiencies in the closing process
Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP.
Responsible for general ledger maintenance, monthly close, reconciliations, variance analysis, financial statements, budgets and cash forecasts.
Communicate regularly with ownership and senior management team in regularly scheduled meeting settings about financial performance, business opportunities and challenges
Retain and develop team members, including coordinating with third-party accounting support
Generate and monitor projections of sales, expenses, and profit against actual performance, explaining variances to actuals clearly and concisely. Suggest methods of improving the planning process as appropriate
Assist with consolidated annual audit as needed.
Maintain and improve business systems, processes, and controls, including budgets and key performance indicators, understanding the key financial drivers of the business to manage to those numbers with intensity, including identification of EBITDA addbacks
Assist in implementing new ERP system (Sage Intacct) and drive integrations with non-accounting systems (i.e., ServiceTitan CRM)
Post and process journal entries, record, and document financial transactions, and identify and resolve any financial data discrepancies.
Ensure regulatory compliance with permits, bonds, sales and use tax, etc.
Assist with cross-functional areas of the business as needed.
Education & Skills:
Required
- BS Degree in Finance, Accounting, or business
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting setting with at least 3 years in a privately held company, including “hands-on” work within the accounting functions.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in using Accounting and CRM Systems. We are currently using QuickBooks Online.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Must be capable of thorough understanding of laws and regulations required for doing business in multiple states.
- Creative strategic thinker, who can apply out of the box thinking to problem-solving and big picture concepts.
- Must be a self-starter, and able to work independently and be a Team Player to meet deadlines in a high volume, fast-paced environment.

Preferred but not Required
- CPA Certification or working towards your certification is a plus.
- Experience in a PE-backed company a plus.
- Experience with Sage Intacct a plus.
- Experience in an industry that experiences seasonal demand and expense timing within a fiscal year is a plus.
Compensation:
Pyramid intends to offer the selected candidate a competitive base salary plus the potential of annual bonus. The actual offer will be based on a variety of factors, including experience.
