Position Overview:

Join Vertex Service Partners as the Director, Total Rewards and People Operations! We are seeking a skilled, “ready to rock” leader to oversee all aspects of acquisition integration, benefits, payroll, HRIS, compliance, and compensation within our organization. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge in these areas and be able to execute strategic and tactical responsibilities. We are a fast paced, fun team! Must be able to build strong relationships, communicate effectively, establish efficient processes and roll up your sleeves!

Key Responsibilities:

Acquisition Integration:

  • Provide integration support and alignment for new partner acquisitions.
  • Ensure seamless transition of benefits policies and HRIS during acquisitions.
  • Implement strategies for benefits and pay policy migration and sunsetting.

Benefits:

  • Oversee all aspects of benefit plan administration including health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
  • Manage total leave programs in addition to Life/AD&D/STD/LTD policies.
  • Handle COBRA administration and life event management.
  • Run open enrollment.

Payroll:

  • Supervise the payroll processing function to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll activities, including timekeeping, wage calculations, and benefit deductions.

HRIS:

  • Lead the strategic planning, and optimization of ADP Workforce Now to align with organizational goals.
  • Execute a high volume of new fast-paced company acquisitions/employees onto the ADP Workforce Now HCM.

Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure company compliance such as EEO, Wage & Hour, and other employment laws.
  • Manage audits and develop policies and processes while providing guidance for compliance-related issues.

Compensation:

  • Develop and implement compensation strategies to attract and retain top talent.
  • Conduct salary surveys and benchmarking to maintain market alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, CBP)
  • M&A integration experience required
  • 10 + years in benefits, payroll, HRIS and compliance
  • In-depth understanding of benefit plans, employment laws and pay practices
  • Experience with ADP or similar HRIS systems
  • Exceptional communication ability and relationship building skills
  • Strong at building efficient, repeatable processes

Location: Charlotte, NC – Hybrid

Travel: Up to 25%

Direct Reports: This role will begin as an individual contributor working with an outsourced HR team and will build a small internal team thereafter.
