Job Brief
As a Senior accountant, you will be a critical piece of the daily accounting functions of the Orion holding companies. In addition, you will be a key partner of a constantly achieving best-in-class finance and accounting team. This role will focus on processing the day-to-day accounting activities of our holding companies, ensuring timely and accurate transactional records while meeting regular deadlines. This opportunity provides growth for someone who can prove strong accounting skills, time management, and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines. The Senior accountant will be responsible for helping to ensure accurate and timely monthly accounting closes for the holding companies of Orion. As this job is available on a remote basis this individual will need to be self-driven, effective, and efficient with task management.

Job Duties

Working directly with the CAO and the Assistant Controller, the accounting is crucial to executing daily accounting operations. Job responsibilities include:

  • Staying current with recording weekly cash transactions
  • Lead the processing and coding of the Holding Company Accounts payable
  • Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable
  • Properly record prepaid expenses & fixed assets
  • Communicate and administer management fees & expense allocations to subsidiary companies
  • Assist with Intercompany transactions, expense reimbursement, and payroll
  • Roll forward & maintain monthly reconciliations and lead schedules
  • Preparing numerous journal entries pertaining to month-end close
  • Assist with treasury and preparation with consolidated tax returns
  • Other Ad hoc duties as assigned
  • Model the highest ethical standards and behaviors of the organization

Candidate Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 2-4 Years of related experience
  • Ability to efficiently work remotely
  • Understanding of US GAAP principles
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong software and excel background
  • Ability to travel as needed (approximately 5%)
