Description

FEV Tutor, Inc. is seeking an experienced and strategic Corporate Controller to join our team. As the leader of global accounting, the ideal candidate should have a strong track record in managing complex accounting and financial operations across the U.S. and internationally. We are looking for someone technically proficient in US GAAP and international accounting standards, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing finance team. The successful candidate will have exceptional analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to drive financial accuracy and efficiency. About the Role:

The Corporate Controller at FEV will oversee the day-to-day accounting and financial operations for our U.S. and India businesses. This role ensures that accurate financial information is available to our FEV and Alpine leaders , enabling effective financial decision making and in delivering our mission of eliminating the K-12 equity gap in the U.S.. The Corporate Controller will manage teams in India and the U.S. and work closely with cross-functional leaders to ensure compliance, enhance financial reporting, and support strategic initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

You will lead the accounting team in managing and optimizing financial systems, processes, and reporting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Managing the month-end close process for the U.S., India, and consolidated financials.
  • Delivering monthly and quarterly comprehensive financial reporting packages.
  • Developing and implementing internal controls and safeguards for revenue, costs, budgets, and actual expenditures.
  • Leading the implementation of new accounting standards and ensuring timely annual audits with no material weaknesses or deficiencies.
  • Establishing relationships with the U.S. and India accounting teams, fostering trust, and encouraging professional development.
  • Coordinating annual audit processes and managing tax returns to ensure compliance and optimal strategies.

You will have a solid foundation in accounting principles and a proven track record of success in financial management. Your ability to lead a team, coupled with strong analytical skills, will enable you to drive financial accuracy and efficiency across the organization. As a proactive and adaptable professional, you will navigate complex financial landscapes and contribute to the strategic goals of FEV Tutor.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, India, and International accounting standards.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a private equity-backed growth company.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards such as ASC 606 and ASC 842.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate timely financial reporting packages.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience working with international teams and consolidating financials into U.S. GAAP.

Additional Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Strong tax experience.
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience with M&A
  • Experience in driving transformation and efficiencies in controls and accounting systems.
  • Experience with treasury management, audit, and tax functions.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal oversight.
  • High level of self-awareness and professionalism, with a personable and approachable demeanor.
