Curriculum Writer – MS and HS Social Studies (Contract)

We deliver live online 1:1 and small group tutoring sessions using our standards-aligned and research-based curriculum. We are looking for educators to write middle school and high school Social Studies and History lessons for grade 8, and high school US and World History courses. This is a remote contract position.

What you’ll do:

• Evaluate course, grade, and state standards to identify learning objectives, map out lesson sequence, and design diagnostic test
• Review existing lessons and align them to other state standards
• Write student-facing lessons with teacher/tutor guides delivered synchronously on our custom whiteboard platform using our custom authoring tool
• Follow project plan and timeline for submitting, revising, and authoring assigned lessons
• Communicate with content specialists and other curriculum writers throughout the development process
• Ensure lessons meet specified state standards

What you’ll need:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in education or directly related field
• Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience with K-12 social studies curriculum alignment and development with a focus on grade 8 and HS level social studies courses

Additional skills and abilities:

• Experience with Texas, Virginia, Georgia, or Maryland state standards (preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets
• Ability to work in a flexible, face-paced environment

Position Type: Remote, work-from-anywhere contract position
