The Evergreen holding company team is comprised of 35+ professionals based in San Francisco who are focused on capital allocation, M&A, executive level hiring, strategic board leadership, and finance and accounting. Evergreen is a uniquely long-term oriented holding company that seeks to hold and grow businesses indefinitely rather than follow the 5-7 year holding period of a typical private equity fund. This allows us to take a truly long-term view on performance and people. Job Description

As a Redwood operating associate, you will work closely with our executive team to help us solve our biggest challenges. You will get exposure to what it’s like to run one of our companies, manage an expanding holding company, and grow a business via acquisition.

Our goal is to hire successful associates who can deliver results and hit the ground running post-graduation. As a Redwood operating associate, you will take on a high-impact role in one of our businesses or with our holding company team. Your responsibilities will include improving day-to-day operations, driving strategy and growth, contributing to company vision, and having responsibility for the financial performance of the business.

Our operating associates work closely with, learn from, and share their perspectives with the group of peer associates across our businesses via formal events and ad-hoc conversations. Your peers will include ambitious professionals navigating their first few years as a senior executive, entrepreneurs who have built a business over decades, and seasoned managers with deep industry and functional expertise.

We are looking for smart, motivated individuals who are looking to “roll up their sleeves” and are hungry to make an impact by stewarding a business over the long-term. Responsibilities May Include

  • Drive short and long-term strategy & vision
  • Allocate resources
  • Make major decisions for our businesses
  • Lead inorganic growth and diligence process for future acquisitions
  • Implement new operational practices across the platform
  • Engage with CEOs and other executive level employees
  • Manage strategic initiatives from start to finish
  • Represent Redwood
  • in future recruitment of associates and other executives

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Ability to work with extreme autonomy and an ownership mindset
  • Exceptional EQ, can develop relationships and followership at every level of the organizational hierarchy
  • Leadership experience and ability to persevere through adversity
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, an ability to make great decisions with incomplete information
  • Humble, accountable, and growth-minded
  • Positive attitude and competitive intensity

Preferred

  • Achievement of one or more promotions at a previous employer
  • Experience managing a team of direct reports
  • Undergraduate education at a top ranked school
