Position Purpose

Aspira’s Senior Front-End Engineer plays a pivotal role in developing and enhancing user-facing features and interfaces that deliver exceptional user experiences across the company’s digital products. This role combines advanced technical expertise in front-end technologies with a strong focus on design and usability. The Senior Front-End Engineer collaborates closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, and back-end engineers to build scalable, responsive, and visually appealing interfaces. This position also involves mentoring junior engineers and driving best practices to ensure the highest standards of front-end development.

Incumbent will play a key role in developing high-performance, user-friendly web applications, work closely with design and development teams to build components and features that are both visually appealing and functionally robust, and leverage expertise in modern front-end technologies, particularly React, will be critical in delivering top-tier solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Component Development: Design and develop reusable components using React, with a focus on performance, accessibility, and scalability.
  • UI/UX Collaboration: Work closely with designers to ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and implement them accurately.
  • State Management: Leverage Tanstack Query and other state management libraries to manage complex application states.
  • Routing: Implement sophisticated routing using Tanstack Router to create dynamic and efficient navigation flows.
  • GraphQL Integration: Integrate and manage data with GraphQL APIs to ensure seamless data flow and interaction.
  • Tooling and Build Process: Utilize Vite for fast builds and optimized performance in development and production environments.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain unit tests and visual regression tests using Storybook and Chromatic to ensure high-quality code.
  • Code Management: Collaborate in code reviews and adhere to best practices in version control, using ppm for package management.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement responsive, user-friendly interfaces that align with product requirements
  • Lead and mentor junior front-end engineers, providing guidance on best practices and code optimization techniques.
  • Champion Aspira policies and procedures, uphold product quality and reputation, and consistently adhere to compliance and relevant initiatives by preserving the confidentiality of information, safeguarding organizational assets, and acting with integrity and ethics.
  • Support the Solutions division by actively participating in pertinent projects and fulfilling other assigned duties.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in front-end development with React and its ecosystem, including hooks, state management libraries (Tanstack Query, Context API, etc.).
  • Strong experience working with the shadcn/ui framework (Tailwind) to create highly customizable components.
  • Storybook & Chromatic: Proficient in setting up and using Storybook for component development and Chromatic for visual testing.
  • Tanstack Router & Query: Hands-on experience with Tanstack Router and Query for routing and state management in React applications.
  • GraphQL: Experience in working with GraphQL for data fetching and management.
  • Build Tools: Solid understanding of Vite as a build tool and its ecosystem.
  • Best Practices: Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and front-end best practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues.
  • Collaboration: Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Continuous Learning: A passion for staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development.
  • Experience with TypeScript is highly desirable, adding type safety and enhancing code maintainability.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools like Vitest and Chromatic.

Desired Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required, with a focus on web development or user experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in front-end development, with a strong portfolio of work demonstrating expertise in building responsive, high-performance web applications.
  • 3+ years of experience working with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js), with documented contributions to at least 3 major projects that significantly improved user experience or business outcomes.
  • 2+ years of experience in leading or mentoring junior engineers, with evidence of successful mentorship that led to measurable skill improvement and project contributions.
  • Demonstrated experience in optimizing front-end performance, with at least 3 projects where performance improvements resulted in measurable gains in user engagement or satisfaction.

Desired Hardware and Software Competency

  • Mastery of front-end development tools, including VS Code, WebStorm, or Sublime Text, for efficient coding and debugging.
  • Proficiency in front-end frameworks and libraries, particularly React, Angular, or Vue.js, with a strong understanding of their ecosystems and best practices.
  • Expertise in CSS pre-processors like SASS or LESS, and experience with CSS-in-JS solutions for modular, maintainable styling.
  • Strong experience with front-end testing frameworks, such as Jest, Mocha, or Cypress, ensuring robust, reliable code.
  • Proficiency in using build tools like Webpack, Gulp, or Parcel, optimizing for performance and efficiency in the development workflow.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly for front-end deployment, using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Experience with browser developer tools for debugging, performance analysis, and optimization of front-end code.

  • Frequent operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, printer, etc.,
  • Scheduled hours, such as weekend, evening, or holiday shifts may occur as required by the business.
